A few years ago, I wrote a personal narrative titled “He Taught Me About the Stars.” It was an exploration of my relationship with my father and our shared fascination with outer space.

During my first semester of the writing minor, I used the personal narrative as the inspiration for my final project, a children’s book about a little girl named Luna who floats to the moon with her pet cat in the middle of the night.
